A crystal in Power Miners is a small source of food and energy for both Lava and Rockmonsters. The Power Miners main objective is to collect these crystals so the Monsters won't eat them all and cause Earth to be in ruins.
When ate, the monsters let off strange earth-shaking rumblings around them.
